HOUSING MARKET IS CLAWING WAY BACK - The Times August 2005
The housing market is clawing its way back from its slowdown, despite a 0.2 per cent fall in prices this month, Rightmove, the property webiste says today.
In its monthly report for August, the website records a 0.2 per cent fall in estate agents asking prices. It comes after a 1 per cent drop in July.
However, on an annual basis, there were signs of improvement. In the year to July, asking prices rose by a mere 0.2 per cent (well below the rate of inflation) but the annual figure picked up in August to 2.1 per cent.
