Rising Demand Fuels House Prices - Evening Standard May 06

House prices in London have continued to rise faster than in any other area of the country, according to a report released today by the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors. According to its estate agent members, prices rose again last month after climbing in march.

Rising demand and a decline in available homes is fuelling the increases. RICS members expect prices and the number of sales to continue to go up in the next three months. Spokesman Jeremy Leaf said low loan rates had encouraged buyers.
