Asking figure up by average 12% in a year

London house prices have increased by an average of £33,000 in the last 12 months.

The 11.7 per cent rise in asking prices across the Capital has been fuelled by City bonuses and an influx of rich foreign buyers.

This has been accompanied by low interest rates and steady consumer confidence, meaning the rises have rippled out into the suburbs.
