London Prices rising Twice As Fast As Any Other Region - Evening Standard Aug 07

The continuing rise in London's property prices are rippling out to the suburbs and lifting the average all-London asking price to almost £400,000, research shows today.

The graeter London average is now £394,730, having gone up by a further 1.8 per cent in the last month alone. The figures, from website www.rightmove.co.uk, record a growing division between London and the rest of the country.

Over the past twelve months, prices in the capital rose nearly twice as fast as any other region. The average London asking price increased by £6,832 while the national average rose by only one tenth of that.
