Dollar hits 22-month high against pound - The Tmes Aug 09

The dollar made further gains against leading currencies yesterday, touching a 22-month high of $1.8619 against the pound and a five-and-a-half month peak of $1.4778 against the euro. The weakening of the UK and eurozone economies has increased expectations of rate cuts.
