Rental Yields Rise For The First Time In 5 Years
The Times – July 2005
Returns from rental property are up for the first time in five years according to the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (Rics).
However the average yield is still only around 5%, lower than many buy-to-let mortgage interest rates.
Rental yield income as a percentage of the property's value may be rising, but this is largely due to the fact that house price inflation has been slowing, so the rental income becomes a higher proportion of a house's value.
