Buy-to-let investors are starting to return to the market and they have a greater choice of good value mortgage deals than ever before. writes David Budworth

Mortgages Direct, a specialist lender, arranged 50 per cent more buy-to-let mortgages in September than in August.

Peter Gladdy, of Mortgages Direct, a specialist lender, said:"The rental market is fairly buoyant, with many potential homeowners waiting to see which way prices will go and opting to rent instead."

Mortgage companies are making it easier to arrange buy-to-let loans, to tempt people back into the market.
